Heady, spice-tinged dark berry preserve, incense and floral pastille scents show excellent clarity and a touch of mint in the background. In a suave, palate-coating style, displaying sweet black and blue fruit flavors and showing no excess weight. We are very pleased to offer this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot and Merlot from by our friend Bartholomew, who lives with his family in Richmond. It is a tribute to his father Michael Broadbent, the 24th Master of Wine, founder of Christie’s wine department and, who, with Robert Mondavi, founded the Napa Valley Wine Auction.
2019 Auctioneer Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, USA - Aromas of black fruit with hints of cedar and coffee, clove, black olive, bay leaf and violets. Full bodied with a mix of fresh and ripe black fruits with balanced tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish. A good example of Napa Cabernet.

2005 Pierre Gaillard Domaine Madeloc Collioure Magenca, Languedoc-Roussillon, France - From one of the very best vintages in the last 20 years this is a great opportunity to try a wine from the tiny AOC of Collioure, a small wine area in the very South-Eastern corner of Roussillon, bordering Spain and the sea. This GSM blend has dried plum, garrique and leather with a touch of mild funk and mild tannins. Reminds one of a drinkable mature, simple Châteauneuf-du-Pape. 2002 Domaine Barat Les Vaillons, Chablis Premier Cru, France - Ripe, slightly candied fruit with a touch of citrus introduces tight, intense, beautifully rich flavors that offer terrific acid/fruit/sap balance and fine length. 2011 Domaine Billaud-Simon Les Vaillons, Chablis Premier Cru, France-  “Pale yellow. Green apple, lemon and white flowers on the nose, plus a suggestion of mint. Juicy flavors of yellow fruits and flowers are freshened by brisk lemon and lime notes. 2017 Domaine des Tourels Cuvee Julie IGP Pays d’Oc, France -  here is your everyday red blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with old world sensibilities showing ripe red fruits and hints of dried fig on a smooth finish. $15.99
We received our very small allocation of some new releases from natural winemaker Domaine Matassa.
2020 Matassa Blanc, Vin de France - From the Roussillon, a blend of Grenache Gris and Macabeu. Fresh fruity, a less is more sort of thing. Organic with minimal intervention and no added Sulphur $59.99
2020 Matassa Rouge, Vin de France - a natural wine made from Carignan with a little Grey Carignan and White Carignan in co-plantation. Usually intense and structured but we get so little we have not tasted this vintage.  No added Sulphur. $59.99

Liquore delle Sirene ‘Americano Rosso’ Aperitivo Italy- The latest addition to our ever-expanding selection of Vermouth and Mixers, Sirene Aperitivo Americano Rosso is a stunning, naturally tinted aperitif wine made from a base of Trebbiano di Lugana from Lake Garda. Hibiscus, Monardo flowers and various botanicals imbue this wine with a vivid strawberry-red color and gentle bittersweet notes.  Add an ounce to three ounces of Prosecco or Cava for a fun alternative to an Aperol Spritz or use in place of sweet vermouth in a Negroni.  $39.99 and yes, it is vegan friendly!
